Mobile App for Members

NextGenLib - Mobile App has been developed using latest technology (MAUI Technology based on .NET CORE 8.0 Standard) and thus provides a rich UI experience to the library members to access library services in the seamless manner. Mobile App is using .NET CORE REST OpenAPI to fetch results from postgres database and thus results appear faster based on queries submitted by members. Member can search catalogue of Books and other materials, can submit Reserve or Inter Library Loan Request, can download/read e-Books if uploaded with the Title record, can update member profile, change of password, tagging of titles for later use and can read latest news/articles uploaded in the software.

NextGenLib is used for computerization of Library Activities as well as to provide various online library services to the registered library members. It covers both i.e. automation of in-house activities of libraries plus library services to the members.

NextGenLib is a web based software, hosted on Cloud and thus, not required to be installed in library desktops. Libraries can access it on annual subscription basis and can utilzie for LIVE data entry and ONLINE Library services.

Front end of the software has been developed in ASP.NET 4.0 and runs on Windows platform, while back-end used is Postgres - an open source DBMS. Reports have been developed using Crystal Reports. The software has been developed using latest version of the .NET framework and also uses lates version of Postgres. Besides, software is well compliant with lates ICT standards as well as Library standards including AACR2, MARC21, SIP2/NCIP, well integrated with Google Books and Z39.50 for downloading cataloguing records.

NextGenLib Software has been developed keeping in view of Indian Libraries requirements and suitable to all sizes of Libraries. There is no locking of number of records, un-limited records can be created and managed. The software covers almost all activities in a library.

NextGenLib software is implemented with accommodation of many libraries uses a centralized database where master data is shared in common while library specific data are not shared and accessible to specific library only. It works on Shared Cataloguing mode, generates a single master catalog records of each books while copies of the book are added by individual libraries, thus, manages collection in Union Catalog fashion.

Software is having two kinds of interfaces, one for library staff for data enty, issue return and other activities, while a separate inteface is provides i.e. OPAC for registered library members. The member interface is for accessing library catalog and for downloading/reading digital documents, if uploaded.
